I would like to begin to say, you are not along, to the people who, like me is being stereotyped every single day. I would like to say that, I hope you are happy and I hope it will not happen to you to the people who choose to stereotype me and people like me. I have been a victim of stereotype and racism since I was young. Growing up in a black neighborhood, I really did not think much about racism, but as I grow up and I become exposed t diverse places, I come to realize that I am a minority. I was picked at my first day job, and I was regarded as someone who could not be trusted just because of my skin color. There are many instances and I really do not think that we have advanced as a nation to address racial stereotypes. It still lingers and I do not think it will ever disappear. To those people who are being targeted with stereotypes, understanding and recognizing that you are being stereotype is crucial. You have to equip yourself with the right mindset and skillset to be competitive in the workplace. We must urge our workplace to embrace a culture of diversity and inclusiveness.
